Food Safety and Security: Global Holistic Approaches for the Future and Environmental

This NATO Advanced Research Workshop will bring together scientists and experts from universities, regulatory agencies, and the food industry from both the United States and European NATO countries to critically assess the current state of food safety regulations and their environmental impacts in Romania and other SE European countries. Attendees will have an opportunity to learn about food safety issues in the U.S., collaborate and debate current food safety problems in the Balkans, and help to identify directions for future action in the areas of food safety and security. Speakers from Belgium, Germany,Netherlands, Portugal, the United Kingdom, the U.S., and Romania will take part in the event. Co-directed by Dr. Lester Wilson, Iowa State University, and Daniela Borda, Dunarea de Jos University, Galati,Romania. The workshop is part of the NATO Science for Peace and Security Programme.
