DatSciAwards – Celebrating Data Science Talent in Ireland
Written by Cronan McNamara
The data science industry is growing rapidly as businesses are starting to adapt to a world driven by data. We constantly hear about the large volumes of data being produced, however this data isn’t worth much unless you have smart data scientists and businesses to leverage it.
The inaugural DataSci Awards recognise the emerging data science sector, its talent and the value it has contributed to organisations nationally. The awards take place this September and have been launched jointly by Next Generation and the National Centre for Applied Data Analytics (CeADAR).
Creme Global CEO, Cronan McNamara, will chair the judging panel for the Company of the Year Indigenous Irish category. This award recognises businesses that have shown the most effective use of data science to compete and thrive.
Cronan will be looking for businesses that have a strong team engaged with data science at the highest level within the organisation. In particular, the judges on Cronan’s panel are looking for organisations that can demonstrate increased sales, profits and customers on the back of their data science initiatives and that articulate strong vision and commitment to utilising data science into the future.
The awards will be split into six categories, ranging from Data Scientist of the Year, Company of the Year and Student of the Year. For more information on the awards follow DataSci on Twitter @DatSciAwards and visit the website at http://datsciawards.ie/.
