Senior Python Developer

At Creme Global (Grand Canal Dock) we believe that to build great products you need great people. We are looking for an enthusiastic senior Python developer with an interest in maths, who enjoys challenging technical problems, to come join our team and help architect and build a new innovative modeling platform.

Creme Global is an award winning company with global clients, who include government agencies, some of the largest companies in the world and academic institutions. A multidisciplinary team, with backgrounds in mathematics, nutrition, computer science, amongst others, work together to provide solutions to meet our clients’ needs. As well as our modeling platform Creme Global has developed mathematical models to calculate consumer exposure to toxins present in food and cosmetics, which are used by companies to keep the general population safe. We are now expanding our modeling capabilities beyond this domain.

What you get to do every day:

  • Provide key input on technical direction and product roadmap
  • Help set the standard for the back end development team (Python)
  • Facilitate cross-team interaction with Front End (Angular) and Test automation teams
  • Stay up-to-date with innovations and changes in the industry
  • Help with continuous improvement in an Agile environment
  • Build a brand new modeling platform
  • Solve challenging mathematical modeling problems
  • Work with DevOps to make the best use of AWS, including Elastic Beanstalk, Lambda, RDS, SQS

What you bring to the role:

  • Several years’ experience working with Python in a mathematical environment
  • Experience of Python for application development and scripting
  • Experience developing web applications using modern web applications frameworks. Ideally Django.
  • Experience in database design, optimisation and management, particularly using large datasets, using database systems such as MySQL, PostgreSQL, or NoSQL.
  • Experience with software engineering practices such as the use of Version Control Systems (particularly Git), code reviews/pull requests, Test Driven Development and Continuous Delivery
  • Experience developing representational state transfer (RESTful) API architectures
  • An ability and enthusiasm for learning new technologies quickly.
  • AWS experience

  • Attention to detail, with the ability to estimate accurately and complete tasks within that time.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
  • Strong communications skills, verbal and written.
  • Ability to interpret technical and business requirements effectively.
  • Fluency in the English language is required.

Nice to have:

  • Some exposure to front end technologies.
  • Experience developing high performance code.
  • Interest in mathematics and statistics
  • Proficiency with developing and deploying applications on Linux environments.
